PC Lee Chamberlain (visit main info page here)
Hello from your Local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. I am PC Lee Chamberlain and I cover Camberley Town and St Pauls together with PC Samir Lama Tamang, PCSO Andrew Riley and PCSO Amanda proctor.
PS Charlotte Dickson heads up the team and also looks after the Licensing issues within the area.
I have been within the team for over a year now and during that time our main issue within Camberley Town was minor Anti Social behaviour within Princess Way and the Fast Food establishments. This has been reduced considerably but as with any Town it attracts the youths in the early evening so please be mindful and report any incidents to the Police.
A trend that seems to rise and fall within the Town is Theft of Purses and Handbags.
Thieves are managing to open secure handbags to remove items especially belonging to the elderly who are walking around town. Please be vigilant and report anything to The Main Square Security or Police. This being said incidents have reduced but please be aware.
Townside Place since last summer has also had incidents of Criminal Damage and Disorder. Recent Policing of the area seems to have stopped any further incidents.
There is an active Neighbourhood Watch scheme for the area and we are always looking for more members or schemes for this and other areas so please contact us if this is of interest to you.
St Pauls is mainly covered by PC Lama Tamang and PSCO Proctor.
On Wednesday the 5th of December the team held a successful panel meeting were 24 local residents and local councillors were present.
The main issue to arise from that meeting was Speeding Down Crawley Hill.
Out of that came volunteers for community speed watch and the Local Authorities are looking at a safer crossing point within the area.
There have been several burglaries within and surrounding St Pauls over recent months. Can all residents please be mindful of security, windows, garages, not leaving keys too near your letter box and general safety. If you wish to discuss your home security for free please call our team and PC Robin Wood our Crime Prevention Officer will be able to give expert advice.
Overall our community is working together to prevent and detect crime, please report all incidents otherwise myself and the team do not see the full picture of what is actually going on and therefore we are not putting our resources to best use.
The team holds local surgeries and panel meetings on a regular basis within the area so please see the website or call the team for future dates.
