"Could the 70's Make a Comeback?" Utopia was the only place that did it with style, but now there is no Utopia... what next??? Please read the below feature and help us and Mr Reid out by filling in this short survey.

Hello, my name is Norman Reid and I am asking you to assist me with this survey.

For a long time now the youngsters have had it all their way as entertainment in Oxford is always geared towards them. Most of the night clubs in the City Centre and surrounding towns play R&B, Dance and Reggae Music all aimed at the teenagers. This of course leaves nothing for the over 25’s as we don’t want to go to town and be seen in the same place as our kids, if we have any. Wouldn’t it be great to hear some familiar music which you grew up with like Motown, Funk & Soul Stuff?

There are a couple of bars that do try, but fail miserably as they keep repeating the same old music over and over again. Anytime you walk in you know what they are going to play. Does this sound familiar?

Well my plan is to change all that. I am planning to create an exclusive 70’s Disco Night which will be at a local venue in Oxford on a scale never seen before. Just imagine at the end of every month you will have somewhere at last to meet your friends of the same age group and dance the night away to the music that you love. It will be like the good old days come back again!!

I will be playing you all those great disco hits between 1970 and 1980. Not on CD but on proper Vinyl records. I currently have over 400 LP & 12” records and anything that you can think of in that era, if it’s worth having, I have it!

I need to approach a local venue to put the proposition to them but I need your help.

If you can fill in one of these forms then I will be armed with the evidence to make my case in persuading them to give me the chance to put on this event.

Please Note: At no time at all will any of the information regarding your address or any of the details be passed on to anyone. The address details, telephone number and email address will be used by my self to contact you nearer the time. The rest of the information will be used as a statistic to make my case when I approach the venue owners.

For example I could say to them “I will bring to your club 500 people between the ages of 25 to 55 who will be spending an average of £120 per couple or £60 per person for the night”. I can also say on average what kind of drink they will be buying which could also be used to get special promotion discount on certain drinks.

If you help me now by filling in this form and once I get this off the ground, then you will be the first in line for automatic membership to a fan club which will gain you access to all sorts of fun stuff and discounts on tickets in the future.

Disco music is something which is close to my heart, and this has been a long time dream of mine to create this type of event and share my music with others. Please help me make it a reality. Thanks.
